ASHLEY LAUNCHES FIRST EVER LIVE TOUR DATES IN NEW YORK AND LOS ANGELES IN MARCH

Maintaining incredible momentum with tens of millions of streams, rising pop singer-songwriter Ashley Kutcher unveils a new single entitled “Love You More” via Darkroom/Interscope Records today. The vulnerable song layers her dynamic vocals over delicate guitar, hazy production, and warm echoes. It builds towards a relatable and real confession, “If I’m being honest, I don’t know if I feel love as I did when I was young. At the end, she does promise, “I love you more, as if speaking directly to the object of her affection.

Of the song, Kutcher said, “‘Love You More’ encompasses the thoughts and emotions of being stuck in the past. This song is about feeling as if you’ll never love as innocently as you did when you were young. Even when you find someone really great, you feel like you’re incapable of loving them as strongly as you loved before.”

Ashley incited a wave of anticipation for the track’s arrival with a pre-save campaign on TikTok. In advance of the song, she dropped a series of videos, generating over 100K-plus cumulative views and counting.

Fans can expect to hear it live at her first ever shows in Los Angeles and New York City this March. Gracing stages on both coasts, she performs at Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles, CA on March 8 and at Mercury Lounge on March 10 in New York, NY.

Tell us about the genesis of your project. How did you get to where you are now?

“Music was always in my household growing up. When I got older, I started  playing local gigs and recording my own music. I never created music with the intention of becoming an artist, I just did it to express myself. I was just writing what I wanted and not trying to stick to a certain genre or brand. Because of that, I got to explore so many different stories and sounds that I think so many people are able to find something they relate to or like within my music.”

What is the most important thing an artist should give their audience?

I think the most important thing is to give your audience a feeling. You could have the best lyrics or the best production, but if you’re not portraying feelings it will be hard for people to relate. I’ve rerecorded lines for so many of my songs even though they weren’t wrong, they just didn’t give the feeling I was looking for.

Who were your top 3 artists last year?

My top artists last year were Noah Kahan, Tate McCrae, and The Band Camino.

What do you do when you’re feeling uninspired?

I’ve developed two things that really help when I’m feeling stuck or uninspired. The first one is stepping away and going out with friends. Since most of my songs are about things I’ve experienced, I try to make new experiences. Another huge inspiration for me lately has been books. I have read about 20 books in the last few months and I’ve found SO much inspiration from them. I’m always writing down new quotes or feelings I get from books I’ve read.

What are your 2022 projects and goals?

In 2022 I am excited  to show everyone the style that I’ve found for myself. 2021 was full of self discovery for myself as a new artist. I tried a bunch of different styles and just had fun with my new career. Through that time I learned what feels right and what doesn’t. In 2022, I want to show what I learned and really focus on the style that feels the most me.

Favorite moments or anecdotes from this or any past tours?

I’m about to perform my first shows ever in March and I can’t wait!

Tell us about your latest release and how it came about

My latest release is my EP, One Eighty. This EP was full of self discovery and exploring different music styles. I had so much fun working with different people and recording these songs. I think it really shows variety when it comes to figuring out who you are as an artist.

What is something you would want to change in the music and entertainment industry?

I think with social media, people are developing really short attention spans. Even myself! I want to find more artists that are really authentic, and this can be hard with the intake of so much media. I wish the focus was on artists making music for longer enjoyment rather than 10 second clips. One thing I LOVE about my team is we’re really focused on the long-term project, which is so important when it comes to falling in love with a new artist.

Can you outline your creative process?

My creative process is different every time. I write down anything and everything that I want to say in my notes app, and a lot of that turns into music.

Who inspires your style and aesthetics?

So many different people! I love scrolling through Pinterest and following new people online. I like a lot of darker colors when it comes to my outfits and home decor but I really just like any style that looks cool in my mind.

What is the achievement or moment in your career you are the most proud of and why?

Right now, I would have to say my biggest achievement is being able to sell tickets to my very own headline show. It has been a dream of mine to perform my original songs in front of people who know the lyrics. It will be so surreal for me to perform live!

What do you think an artist should sing about nowadays?

I don’t think there are any boundaries when it comes to what an artist should write or sing about. We all have different styles and stories and that’s what makes us all unique.

Do you have any regrets?

I try not to have any regrets, it’s all a learning process.

What is some piece of advice you would give to yourself right now?

Make music that is genuine and makes you feel something. That is when you are most proud of yourself.
