The songs on A Place For Lovers are part of an ongoing heart play, an intimate, sometimes exhilarating, sometimes melancholy reflection of the ups and downs of singer/songwriters Roy Bartal and Noi Agam’s personal love story. From track to track, the storyline throughout the 13-song collection is structured like a book, following a pattern of exposition, conflict, climax, resolution, and epilogue. The trio Roy, Noi and keyboardist/producer Alon Kenett – first introduced the album with “Unhappy” where spirited, intoxicating rhythms belie the narrative of trying to run away from sadness only to realize it can’t be escaped – it will always be there even on visits to one’s “happy places.”

Then there’s “iCare,an edgy, percussive song that criticizes the numbness of the world to the pain of others while capturing the essence of fighting the demons outside and within. Seeking a more positive light, “Write About You” is a funky, happy tune celebrating life, passion, and love, all leading to exciting inspiration. Recent single “Parties” features a blend of dreaminess and groove intensity as the backdrop to a story about feeling lonely in a world where everyone seems to be enjoying life and having fun and feeling envious of their lightheartedness. Newest focus single “Green” is a moody, soulful ballad about feeling toxic to the world but also knowing that period of depression will lead to growth and new beginnings, like seasonal changes. A Place For Lovers is out independently on September 13th – listen here: https://wergb.co/apfl.

*What do you hope listeners take from hearing A Place For Lovers

We really hope that A Place For Lovers offers listeners a sense of comfort, especially if they’re going through tough times. The album explores deep emotions like love, sadness, and personal growth, but at its core, it’s about embracing all those feelings and realizing that it’s okay to face dark moments. We created this album as a space where listeners can escape, feel understood, and ultimately find hope. More than anything, we want people to walk away knowing that no matter what they’re dealing with, in the end, everything will be okay. We’ve been there too, and this album is our way of saying, “You’re not alone.”

*What are you most proud of with this album?

We’re probably most proud of how intimate and honest this album turned out. It’s the first one we produced entirely by ourselves, just the three of us in Noi and Roy’s little apartment. That gave us the freedom to really experiment with both our sound and our emotions. Every song on this album reflects a specific moment in our lives, and that authenticity is something we truly cherish. The fact that we were able to take these personal stories and blend them into a cohesive world for listeners to explore and maybe even see themselves in, is something we’re really proud of.

*How would you describe RGB’s sound to someone just discovering your music?

We describe RGB’s sound as elegant pop, blending melancholic lyrics with warm, comforting production. Our bittersweet melodies balance sadness and hope, with detailed but approachable production that creates an emotionally colorful sound.

*How do you feel your sound has evolved since your debut album?

Our sound has changed a lot since the first album. Back then, we went for a raw, live feel with simple, organic songs. Now, we’ve moved toward a more polished and dreamy sound, using more electronic production to create layered atmospheres. We’re focused more on storytelling, making each song its own emotional journey and making sure the production really captures the meaning and feel of the song. It’s less about the band and more about letting each track speak for itself.

*Can you talk about your fun visuals and GTV and the creative process for making the videos?

Green TV came from our desire to create a visual world around our music. We were inspired by those moments as kids, falling asleep on the couch, where dreams and TV would mix into a wild fantasy. We wanted our visuals to reflect the same happy-sad feeling that’s in our music. Using green screens, we built playful, dreamlike worlds with colors, outfits, and ideas that matched each song’s vibe. Every detail was designed to bring out the energy of the track, offering a sweet escape for anyone who needs it. Green TV is our way of inviting listeners to step into our world, so we hope you enjoy, and welcome to Green TV.

*If you could tour/perform with anyone, who would be your top choice(s)?

If we could tour or perform with anyone, we’d probably choose Harry Styles, Magdalena Bay, or Chappell Roan. They each bring such unique energy and creativity to their shows, and their music really aligns with the fun, hopeful, and colorful vibe we aim for. It would be incredible to share the stage with them.
