Hailing from the cultural hodgepodge of Broward County, Florida, Talkless is a singer and tattoo artist who uses his music as a conduit to explore complex topics of heartbreak, romance, mental health, addiction, and anti-authority.
“Mind Games” is the follow up of his sophomore release “Why” which has already accumulated over 700k streams across Spotify and YouTube. With only two releases under his belt, Talkless is quickly turning heads among listeners worldwide for his knack of telling personal narratives while toying with pop, punk, and rock.
What do you think is the most important aspect of your life right now?
“Right now, I’m focused on getting ahead on all my own projects—getting them out the way that I want to see them with people I’d like to work with or people that I’m inspired by. By projects I mean visuals, tattoos, clothing designs, etc. It’s all I think about.”
What makes this song special in your opinion?
“It’s a different approach that I haven’t taken yet in my music. It’s a softer sounding song compared to what I usually make, with an acoustic instrumental and softer tones in my voice as opposed to the more upbeat, aggressive stuff that I usually do.”
What inspired this track?
“We kinda just made it. I was leaving LA and we had no plans as to what the song was going to sound like or be about. Killvein had the beat pulled up and I had, like, 40 minutes before I had to leave to the airport. So, I got it done. I’m not in a toxic relationship at all, but I see what others go through and use that as inspiration for my writing.”
What are some of the core messages here?
“Be intuitive. Don’t let outside opinions affect how you think and what decisions you make.”
