Rising singer/songwriter Hunter Daily reminisces on the lovestruck idealism of the beginning of a relationship on her latest single, “Like You Used To.” The poignant track digs into the moment when the honeymoon phase comes to a close and the dynamic shifts.
“I wrote “Like You Used To” during a very rocky period in my relationship. We had just moved in together. It was my first time living with a significant other. I thought it would be so nice finally getting to share a home with my partner, but it didn’t take long to realize it wasn’t going to be all sunshine and rainbows. It’s so easy to take someone for granted when you see them basically every moment of the day. We very quickly went from lovers to roommates. It was so frustrating and broke my heart to think we might never get back to the honeymoon phase. I found myself wondering if he would ever look at me like he used to.”
