Contemporary pop artist Kristin Carter is celebrating the official music video for “Lazy Sunday”, the featured single from her debut album “Full Bloom”.The video is currently available on YouTube.

The video was directed by award-winning filmmaker Eva Tavares, who co-produced with Carter, Tavares, Sydney Knight, and Amanda Konkin. It also features actor Sean Depner (“Riverdale”).

Carter says, “I wanted this video to match the song’s surreal and romantic vibe. Eva developed a beautiful concept of an artist breaking free from a studio session through the magic of flight. The video lets the song exist in its own dream, but also gives the album a bold visual send-off.”

The video’s dazzling aerial sequences required months of preparation to send Carter into flight, including specific training for the artist, so she could gracefully “fly” with the use of a rig. Filmed in Langley, British Columbia, the production was also a full circle moment for Carter and Tavares who previously went to high school together in the same town.

The “Lazy Sunday” video follows two well-received singles, “I’m Still Here” and “Euphoria”, which led into the spring album release of “Full Bloom”. The entire project has marked a defining milestone in Carter’s artistic evolution.

“’Lazy Sunday’ has such a whimsical and floaty feeling to it. That’s why I think the flying element in the video fits so effortlessly into the narrative of the song. It was a challenge to try and be graceful up that high, though.  Luckily, I’m not afraid of heights, so I had that going for me, but making things smooth up there was harder than I thought it would be, especially with a dress like that with lots of fabric.”

“My favourite surprise about seeing the final video was how beautiful the surroundings were. The light between the leaves was so sparkly, it really lent itself to that dream world. Filming in Langley was special because Eva, Sean and I all went to school together out there. It was like a mini-reunion.”
