‘Living Beat’ is the second offering from Liv Monaghan’s eagerly anticipated new album. In contrast to the mellow “masterclass in gentlefolk” vibe of the first single, ‘July,’ this latest release is an energizing, tribal-nuanced tune, showcasing vocal gymnastics and improvisation. Infused with an unmistakable flavour of Irish traditional music, ‘Living Beat’ arrives just in time for the Saint Patrick’s festivities.
The song delves into themes of art deco architecture and techno nests, yet its sound is deeply rooted in ancient and earthy tones. “Living Beat” serves as a tantalizing preview of the upcoming album, exploring the intersection of femininity and nature within the context of urban and industrial settings.
