Gina De Bosschère, performing under the moniker GinaDeBoss, is stepping into the independent pop scene after a remarkably intense run through the major label machine. At just 16 years old, the Los Angeles-based singer, dancer, and model has already navigated the high-pressure, highly competitive world of K-pop, spent nearly two years as a full-time trainee in Seoul, and advanced to the final episode of the reality survival series A2K. Now, after taking time to recalibrate and figure out exactly who she wants to be outside a corporate training facility, she has officially launched her solo project with her debut dance-pop single, “Amnesia.”

This debut gets straight to the point about how easily logic goes out the window when you’re down bad for someone. GinaDeBoss openly admits to being stuck between knowing someone is bad news and still wanting that late-night “get in the car” phone call. The whole track builds on that frustrating feeling of your body completely overriding your brain. By the time she hits the second verse, a wave of jealousy kicks in, making it clear that even if the relationship is messy, she has no intention of letting anyone else take her place.

GinaDeBoss’ background reads like a masterclass in artist development, but one she pursued largely on her own terms. Born into a French-Korean family, Gina spent her early childhood moving between France, Korea, India, and Canada before settling in the U.S. That global perspective gave her music an impressive patina early on; she was writing her own songs and collaborating with international producers by age 11. It was that initial wave of independent work that caught the attention of JYP Entertainment, leading to an elite training regimen in Seoul that covered everything from vocal work to strict media training.

Leaving the structured world of a major K-pop agency at 14 allowed her to experiment without a corporate blueprint. She spent the next two years diving into different genres, eventually locking into dance-pop as the ultimate vehicle for her performance style. To keep her skills sharp, she has spent time training with top-tier choreographers in both LA and Seoul, including hip-hop coach Guy Groove and performance director Dope. K, while expanding her musicality by taking drum lessons at the School of Rock. She even continues to keep a foot in the K-pop world, collaborating on songwriting projects behind the scenes.

Offstage, GinaDeBoss balances her creative drive with a grounded personal life, spending her time modeling, horseback riding, and logging over 100 hours volunteering at an LA surgical veterinary clinic. With her single now out in the world, her immediate next stop is competing at the Miss California Teen USA pageant in July, where she will represent Ventura County. For an artist who has already survived the fiercest corners of the entertainment industry before even turning 17, this new era is less about introducing a fresh face and more about a seasoned performer finally stepping into her own light.
