Enigmatic Catalan electronic trio Mainline Magic Orchestra are pleased to announce their debut album ‘Harri Poter’, featuring the brand new single ‘Skateboarding Is Not A Crime’, released this March through Munich based label Public Possession and Primavera Sound.

A colourful, often off kilter blend of spaced out electro, breaks, psy-tranc , ghetto house and hard-groove techno, ‘Harri Poter’ distills the sounds of modern club culture into a powerful, punchy LP. The band say: “This is a selection of 13 songs designed for the club creating an ode to good vibes and the desire to dance. It is a record that is 100% oriented towards the dance floor. But not to a dark and dismayed dance floor, but to a bright one, full of bpms and highly energetic fun.”
What makes this debut special for you?

Our album debut is special because we have been practically working on it for one year and a half to two years before finishing and releasing it. It’s hard to do an album together, but it make sense finally.

What inspires the record and the name ‘Harri potter?

The record is a couple of songs that go well for the club and dancing. We had some problems to find a good name but one day suddenly when we were doing brainstorming one of us proposed ‘Harri Poter’ and we started cracking up and thought it was hilarious for some weird reason. So the three of us came to a unanimous decision and thought it was a nice name because we love the world of fantasy too.

You mix up a lot of different vibes here. What inspires your sound?

We started the project about 4-5 years ago and by then we had similar tastes. The album is an amalgamation of our time together over the years, a real mash up of styles that we incorporated together, so there’s a bit of all of us in here and it works well, like a mixed salad.

What is the modern club culture you are trying to portray on this record?

We don’t know if we portrayed the modern culture but we know we love the visual, surreal and fantastic world and take this in the most fun way possible.

What’s the most representative track on the record and why?

Maybe ‘Skateboarding Is Not a Crime’. It’s a song that meets all the requirements of fun, concept and diversity of musical production.
