Miami’s 21-year old indie pop artist and viral TikTok sensation Jiubel releases his infectious new single “Scooby Doo” via FADER Label. It’s a fast paced offering which tells the story of love pushing us to our limits. The production, bursting with frenetic percussion and complimentary low-key, resonant strings, lays the foundation for a song that evokes the feeling of running from a situation that is driving you mad, while showcasing a more raw side of Jiubel with lyrics like, “You say I’m out of line / Girl don’t f*ck with my head / What you do should be a crime.” (lyrics from “Scooby Doo”)

The TikTok musician (2.3M followers) is known for taking prompts of outlandish situations from his Gen-Z following and turning them into quick songs with his unique wit and humor. After receiving the challenge from one of his followers to make a full song using a cartoon running effect reminiscent of the Scooby-Doo scatter sound, Jiubel took the reins and delivered, showcasing his immense versatility as an artist as well as his dedication to include his fans in the experience of his music making process, a concept that distinguishes the rising talent from his peers.

“I got the idea for ‘Scooby Doo’ from a fan during my first real recording trip to LA – it was one of the first songs I recorded. It came so naturally and from the moment I made the hook, I knew we had something special. The idea came about when someone on tiktok challenged me to make a song that’s actually good while using a cartoon running sound effect in the beat.

I accepted the challenge and made a fast paced song – the running sound reminds me of Scooby Doo, but the song’s about someone driving me crazy. I think people can relate on a personal level too, when you’re in a relationship and that person’s pushing you to the edge, you start losing your mind. The running sound induced that same feeling for me and I’ve been meaning to write a song about it for a while.”
