Tell us more about ‘I’m Really Pretty’. What prompted this bold title?

I’m Really Pretty was inspired by my debut single, “I’m So Hot.” I honestly want to keep with the theme of self love songs coming out every February as long as I can! I always want to be blunt, and my blunt opinion is that not only am I hot, but I’m also really pretty.

Your lyrics are always very bold and forward. What inspires your storytelling?

I think there’s something very important about making music that uplifts and makes people feel good about themselves and seen, which is why I make bold music! Being able to make people smile and sing-along to my lyrics and a positive, affirming way is very important to my artist project.  I’ve connected with music and lyrics ever since I was a little kid, I often found myself looking for validation in the songs that I loved – which makes me as an artist want to give that validation back to my younger self, and to the fans who listen and support me.

Who are some of your all time icons and inspirations?

Musically, I would say one of my biggest inspirations is Lady Gaga. I adore how campy and bold she is, she’s always making a statement whether it be through her or her fashion or the way she walks through the world. The way her career has progressed has absolutely astounded me, and is something I really hope I can accomplish as well.  Another music influence for me is definitely Bernadette Peters. I was a huge musical theater fan as a kid and a teenager, I had every aspiration to be the next Bernadette. While in my love of music shifted to pop more than musical theater, I still find myself referencing her, and the way that I sing and the stories that she tells so beautifully

What’s your ultimate message for your audience?

Ultimately, I want my audience to know that no matter how far away or silly your dream is, you can absolutely accomplish it. We are also unique and have so many stories to tell in so many different ways. I wish I could let my younger self know how far we’ve come, confidence was something I had struggled with so long. I’ve embraced the silly things about me and the things I need to make peace with and have created a beautiful piece of art surrounding my silliest thoughts and vulnerable moments as well. It’s OK to walk moments of life with laughter, chase your dreams but remember in the end the art you make for yourself and your inner child is what matters – nothing other people say about it needs to mean anything to you, so don’t let it. You are special and also really really pretty.
