“Entonces las cenizas flotan” was born in the midst of the pandemic as Niño Flor sat at the piano searching for new ideas. He began recording ambient layers that completely fascinated him, something very different from anything he had done before.

Niño Flor incorporated many genres into “entonces las cenizas flotan,” drawing inspiration from folk, contemporary classical, and experimental music. It is truly a musical clash, but the result isn’t something chaotic or without direction. Instead, he delivered a refined experience that will reach the very core of your heart.

The visualizer flows as one continuous experience. The visuals carry a beautiful vintage quality, almost as if they were recorded a long time ago. The framing, in particular, gives it that old-school feeling. Alongside this comes a surreal and dreamlike atmosphere that perfectly enhances the music.

We see Niño Flor in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by an expansive landscape. He appears like a wandering spirit, moving in quiet dialogue with the world around him. Rather than trying to belong, he creates his own space and invites you to step inside it.

The album tells an ambiguous story inspired by nature’s cycles of change and transformation. The main character spots a heron in the distance between the mountains and feels compelled to follow it. In chasing the heron, he must cross through danger and learn to fly over it, surrendering his fears and making peace with the past before he can truly move forward. Only then can he go with the wind, experience a kind of spiritual death, and rise again as floating ashes.

For Niño Flor, the album is about spiritual death, which is necessary in order to rise again, blossom, and float. The concept draws from the way plants mutate into flowers or how leaves fall to survive the seasons, reminding us that what looks like an ending is often a beautiful transformation.
