EDM icon David Guetta released a new version of his hit single “Family” for the Latin American region with Sofia Reyes. Guetta and the Mexican superstar are joined by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Reyes sings in English and contributes a new verse in Spanish.

Guetta released “Family” last week as a collaboration with Bebe Rexha, Ty Dolla $ign, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. In a new version of the song for Latin America, he teams up with Reyes and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Guetta and Reyes previously collaborated on last year’s hit “Pa’ La Cultura” with Human(X). In “Family,” Guetta blends EDM, trap, and alternative music. Reyes sings about the importance of having close friends who are like family. She also translates the feel-good message into Spanish in a new verse on the song. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie adds a hip-hop edge to their global collaboration.
Reyes is currently nominated for Best Northern Latin American Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards. This marks her fourth nomination in the category. She was previously nominated for Best Northern Latin American Artist in 2017, 2018, and 2020. The 2021 MTV Europe Awards will air live from Hungary on Nov. 14.

Reyes has released a string of hits this year. In September, she teamed up with Mexican-American singer Becky G for the girl power collaboration “Mal De Amores.” The music video has over 24 million views on YouTube. In June, she joined forces with Puerto Rican singer Pedro Capó for “Casualidad.” The music video has over 21 million views on YouTube and more than 23 million views on Facebook.

What is your favorite song of yours?

I have a few but my favorite one and most dear to me is not even out yet and I wrote it for my dad.

All Time Musical Heroes?

You know it’s weird because they’re all so different. I mean, I go from Whitney Houston to Miguel Bose!

What do you do to keep your inspiration alive?

Inspiration comes and goes and as an artist you need to accept that. However, when I do feel inspired I make sure I get on to writing immediately! You need to give your inspiration all your attention when it strikes!

Who are some artists you admire these days?

Oh God once again so many! I love Camilo, Hermano Gutierez and Setangana if we had to make a top 3

Favorite TV shows?

Hercules, Desperate Housewives, Squid Games and I just got back into the Harry Potter rabbit hole

Tell us about Mal de Amores

So proud of this one! Becky G is on it which is MASSIVE. I was watching Selena Quintanilla’s Netflix show and I was really inspired by it to make more music like that

What’s the future looking like for you?

Exciting and very adventurous!

What inspires your style and looks?

That’s a great question! I don’t even know to be honest! I just keep getting inspired by other artists for sure.

What are some qualities you need to make it in this industry?

Authenticity, patience and perseverance! Working hard is key! I’ve seen plenty of talented artists but those who made it were the ones that put more hours in. Simple as that!

Is there anything you would change in the industry?

Things are changing a lot on their own to be honest. For starters there are a lot more women who play major roles in the game and I absolutely love that! To me supporting emerging artists is crucial to make the industry a better place!
