Northern California–based electronic artist and producer ZAYLE enters a bold new chapter with the release of “Control,” out February 6, the lead single from his forthcoming album The World is Pink, Change My Mind.
Expansive, introspective, and quietly cinematic, “Control” explores the psychological weight of living with consequences—set against the vast isolation of space, both literal and metaphorical. The track signals a striking evolution of ZAYLE’s self-coined Flower Bass sound: a genre-defying fusion of melodic pop, lo-fi textures, jazz sensibilities, and trap rhythms, shaped by his 13-year journey as a producer.
There’s a sense of scale to “Control” that feels deliberate. Soft, drifting atmospheres give way to intricate rhythmic detail, creating a push and pull between intimacy and enormity. It’s music that feels suspended—hovering between reflection and forward motion—mirroring the emotional terrain ZAYLE is navigating as he steps into this next artistic phase.
Co-created with Jack Hentosh and Ahmed Creates, the single arrives alongside a haunting music video that extends the song’s emotional gravity. The visual follows an astronaut reckoning with the aftermath of catastrophic failure, transforming isolation, responsibility, and guilt into something deeply resonant. Rather than leaning into spectacle, the video opts for restraint, allowing silence, space, and subtle movement to carry the emotional weight.

“Control” functions as a portal into the universe of The World is Pink, Change My Mind—an album positioned as a defining statement about identity, perspective, and the search for meaning amid chaos. It’s an introduction that feels thoughtful rather than explosive, inviting listeners to sit with uncertainty and find color in unlikely places.
With this release, ZAYLE reframes his sonic world not as an escape, but as a mirror—one that reflects the beauty and burden of responsibility, and the quiet power of choosing how to move forward once control has already been lost.
