18-year-old rising rapper/singer Paris Bryant definitely one of the ones to keep in your radar.
A Trip to Paris establishes Bryant as one of the most moving songwriters in the rap and R&B world, expressing vulnerability, flexes, and intense emotions with ease. Mixtape highlight “Slide,” on the other hand, is a simple ode to good times.
“Shawty in the room and she want me to go beast mode,” the NYC upstart sings. “Put on the track and she know I got the cheat code.”
The colorful pop cut featuring Ghana’s KiDi is sure to heat up dancefloors all summer long.
We couldn’t refrain from asking him about NYC and what it meant for his creativity to be stimulated and shaped in such a prolific city for HIp Hop.
“New York is such an inspiration. Daily! I can’t even put it into words! I think the most valuable aspect of living and breathing this city is that I got to meet and learn from other rappers, musicians, artists, creatives of all kinds grinding everyday trying to make it happen for themselves!”
What got us all startled about Paris, though, was his very unique way of being groovy and upbeat while never losing the deepness and authenticity in his storytelling.
“I wanna keep it real, down to Earth! That’s what connects us all as people. What we go through every day from our struggles, hustles, feelings, relationships and everything else is what makes us human and I wanna tell stories for everyone and for everyone to relate to”
Simply put, Paris Bryant might just be the smooth yet profound lyricist you were looking for this year!
