Waives, an innovative producer hailing from the eclectic streets of Camden Town, London has joined forces with the soulful singer REIGNS to create their latest single, “Collateral Damage”. Set for release on October 25th, the single was written by Dee Adam (Mae Stephens, Dido, Ryan Mack), REIGNS (Benny Benassi, Low Steppa, Breathe Carolina), and Rory O’Hare (Hannah Boleyn, Franklin, Nathan C). This pop liquid drum and bass track showcases a unique blend of Waives’ experimental production with REIGNS’ emotive and powerful vocals.
Having spent years crafting music behind the scenes for a variety of artists, Waives recently decided to pursue a more personal path in music. After relocating from the fast-paced London scene to the serene coastal landscape, Waives now draws inspiration from the ocean and the creative freedom that comes with it. Known for a left-field approach to production, Waives’ work transcends genres, driven by an instinct to break boundaries and create what hasn’t yet been imagined.
Speaking on Collateral Damage, Waives shared “this would not be my usual genre but it just felt right in the moment so we went with that instinctive feeling and I’m really proud of the song we’ve created”.

Hi REIGNS, tell us about your new single ‘Collateral Damage’ and what’s the inspiration behind it?
The inspiration behind Collateral Damage was from a negative dating experience. In all honesty I should have seen the red flags earlier!  Thankfully I did eventually see the light and thought I’d mark the realisation with a song.. this tune is about remembering my worth and knowing when it was time to let the bad vibes go and leave that situation-ship behind!
Tell us how did you get into music and what’s your favourite instrument?
Growing up with my dad’s vinyl records really was the birth of my love of music.. listening to old mixes of icons like Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and more. Then I discovered the piano and.. the rest was history!
Names us three artists dead or alive you’d like to collaborate with and why?
Three artists I’d love to collaborate with would have to be Pink – she was the first artist I saw live and practically grew up listening to. One of the biggest inspirations on stage.
Amy Winehouse – I mean, it’s Amy right!? Every single time I see footage of her performances it’s genuinely like magic and as an artist myself.. that’s how I’d love people to feel watching me. Collaborating with her would’ve been a dream.
Aretha Franklin – the queen of soul. A timeless talent that I will always find myself coming back to.. a voice that comes from the gut like that I will always admire.. we love a vocal QUEEN!!
