A diary turned into music — intimate, honest, and quietly transformative

Italian singer, songwriter, and composer Gaia Rollo introduces her debut EP Something Is Changing at Home, out December 12 via Universal Music Italia and Bellezza Records in collaboration with Dischi Uappissimi.

More than a traditional debut, the project unfolds as a deeply personal diary translated into sound — a space where fragility, memory, and everyday transformation coexist. Following the release of singles Mountains, Olivia, and A, the EP marks the closing of a creative cycle rooted in introspection and emotional clarity.

“Each song tells a different and decisive moment in my life; each one is addressed to someone or something specific.” — Gaia Rollo

At its core, the record is built on a simple but powerful impulse: to share what has long been written, felt, and kept close — and finally let it go.

Focus Track: Remember to Eat

At the emotional center of the EP sits Remember to Eat, a delicate and intimate piece born from the difficulty of managing life’s most essential habits — and the memory of someone who once reminded you to take care of yourself.

It’s a song about absence, care, and quiet gratitude — a small but meaningful gesture turned into music.

Live Before Release

Gaia appeared as opening act for I Cani on December 6 and 7 at the Eremo Club, offering a first live preview of the project.

She also appeared at the 2026 edition of the Eurosonic Music Festival further signaling a rapidly growing trajectory.

Q&A — On Live, Vulnerability, and Authenticity

The live session recorded at Officina Chiodo Fisso has a very intimate and authentic atmosphere — how important was it for you to capture that “real” dimension compared to a more constructed production?
I think it’s fundamental. I don’t believe you need to build an image that “works” to present yourself. Authenticity is what opens the right doors.

Playing with such a defined band inevitably changes the energy of the songs. How did the musicians influence your sound?
They helped me fully realize my vision for the live performance. They’re incredible professionals — and close friends.

Live performance exposes everything. Did it feel more liberating or more vulnerable?
Liberating, for sure. But it also pushed me to grow, to learn from mistakes, and to face difficulties instead of hiding. The synergy you feel live is irreplaceable.

Visually, Balto’s work adds a strong narrative layer. How important was that dialogue between image and sound?
Very important. We’ve worked together before — he understood the project immediately. Trusting his sensitivity and vision came naturally.

What does “live” represent for you today?
It’s everything I’ve always wanted: connection, expression, sharing, growth. It’s about being vulnerable. It’s not always easy — it requires sacrifice — but that’s part of the journey.

About Gaia Rollo

A graduate in jazz vocals from the “Nino Rota” Conservatory (2023), Gaia Rollo has already built a multifaceted path across Italy’s music scene. She has collaborated on projects like We Love Gilberto (Giorgio Tuma) and Wink at Me (Giancarlo Del Vitto), and joined La Municipàl as vocalist and keyboardist — performing at major events including concerts in Rome’s Circo Massimo and Piazza San Giovanni.

Her solo debut signals a new chapter: one that embraces vulnerability, detail, and emotional precision.

Final Note

Something Is Changing at Home is not just an introduction — it’s an entry point into a world that feels lived-in, fragile, and real.

A quiet record, but one that lingers.
