British artist Ella Rosa is a singer, songwriter and storyteller drawing emotionally earnest inspiration from her own life experiences, ranging from the nuances of family and personal relationships, to the trials and tribulations that come with pulling up roots and moving countries.
The young artist started her career as an opera singer in Henley-on-Thames, England then slowly transitioned into R&B. With her admiration of artist like Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill and more, Ella paints the perfect picture musically through soulful vocals, underlined with jazz undertones, an apt metaphor for a resilient and upbeat approach to life as one of the “UK’s Top 50 Artists.”
Recently the beloved gemini musician has collaborated with Geoffro, Kiah Victoria of Sony ATV, ALEO and more with industry recognition from her first single “Myself” through outlets like GQ, Complex, Grimy Goods, and FLAUNT just to name a few. Ella Rosa’s New EP “….” has a bright energy with topics on life, love and change starting with her single “Englishman in New York”.
Tell us about the genesis of your project. How did you get to where you are now?
I think I’ve been very lucky with the relationships that I’ve felt and the people that I’m surrounded with. This project is an ode to my younger self and a realization of the growth that I am making.
How would you describe the highs and lows of being an artist?
We come regularly and they are very big. One minute I can feel like I’m on the tip of something really good, the next day I can feel like nothing is going for me and I should just give up.

Tell us about your latest release and how it came about
Just Me (Feat. 24)” sheds light on the growth that Ella Rosa has made since starting her music career. The intriguing Banjo introduction is followed by Ella’s vocals that speak of her struggles with people-pleasing & her youth in Reading . Made with producer Geoffro (Kahlani, Charlie Puth, and Pink Sweat$) and songwriter Kiah Victoria (Brasstracks and KAMAUU) and features a verse from 24hrs, Ella Rosa incorporates her soulful blend of lyrics and vocal runs to tell her story of self-discovery.
What’s the future looking like for you?
A lot more shows. A lot more music. Some incredible collaborations are coming. All good fun stuff
What inspires your visuals, videos, looks etc?
Vintage high fashion. I love Wes Anderson too and he is a big inspiration for the visuals
What is the most embarrassing memory and most proud moment of your career so far ?
One time I was at an open mic in London and got up to sing Halo by Beyoncé but I completely forgot the words. This is really really long ago but it still haunts me to this day. One of my most proud moments was when I first moved to LA I saw that my show at peppermint club ,
What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
Stay in your lane. Our blinders on and keep going with your gut.
Where do you think the music and entertainment industry is headed after this past year?
I think things are going to get a lot more digital and people are going to be finding innovative ways to utilize platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
