The Boston R&B duo The Loop wants to put the bullies and those who lead the pack in ugliness of character in the spotlight to be exposed. They see visible beauty is an attraction, but recognize that the beauty of the soul is the true beauty which has the power to lead and influence the world.

The duo have embarked on an enthusiastic and committed plan to explore opportunity and promise through their music while supporting aspiring and heartfelt activism.

The Loop follows up their first singles, “See me beyond my skin” and “Affirmations“ with new track “About You” which focuses on the polarizing behavior of the “I’m all that mindset”. The character in the song is weak, lacks confidence, and is egotistical and pompously arrogant, but behaves like they are in full control and are on top of the world and are superior to others. The song combines spoken soul, rap and R&B to effectively attack the unacceptable behaviors of the subjects’ arrogance and need to bring down others to feel good about themselves.

Lyrics such as “Humbleness is the key to not being ugly”, are a testament to the power of being real and honest. The song’s bridge provides an accurate recap of how the subject is stuck and believes all the lies and the stranger reflected in the mirror, and don’t know how to or desire to change. They need to see the ugliness in the mirror, and uncover the genuine beauty that exists.

The loop, which stands for “ladies of opportunity and promise”, want their music to represent all one can achieve in life. Boston-based teen artists, Marcia Bibbins and M’Zariah Starr, age 16, formed the contemporary urban pop/R&B duo, in their teens after connecting through their childhood and school friendship. They both had passion for music and a collaborative strength to share their vision on life’s perceptions.

Their music fits across many genres and is a unique blend of pop, R&B, rap and spoken soul, that removes all judgment and creates an open mind on how people envision the world and those in it. They bring their own spin to old and new sounds with their genre-blending style, creating an artful fusion that captures emotion and drives their activism and passions to influence positivity forward.

There is a calmness and simplicity throughout their songs, which is an open invitation to change perceptions, heal emotional wounds, and bond together to bring power and strength to each other and all lives. They tell stories, through their music, and are on a mission to bring everybody and the world together.
