Electronic music has a lot to offer to people, but it seems that only a few are willing to give it a chance beyond using it as background noise or just for clubbing. Have you ever thought about connecting with the intricate patterns of electronic music on a deeper level? It’s interesting to note that one of its sub-genres is called “trance,” which suggests that there might be a spiritual aspect to it. Do you think it’s possible to have a full-on spiritual experience through electronic music? To perhaps use it to contemplate lattices of our mind and our experience through its thumping bassy beats and synth melodies?

RENASSENSE is here to answer this for you, or at least to give you her take on this idea by providing her own meditations. Enter the “Human Experience” EP, a five-part statement on behalf of electronic music’s power as a tool of contemplation and awareness.

Each track in the EP is named plainly, and each song is geared towards transmitting a concrete emotion or feeling in one way or another. “EMPATHY” for instance is a sensitizing track full of tender melodies and audio samples from Carl Rogers’ 1974 lecture on empathy. On the other hand, “LUST” offers a sexy beat that hints at sweating bodies joined deep in the flashing strobes of the club. Meanwhile the fourth track, ‘MUSIC,’ pays homage to the roots of electronic music by featuring a sample from BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s 1965 feature on Delia Derbyshire.

‘Human Experience’ is a captivating and profoundly emotive musical work that invites listeners on a transformative and diverse journey through the multifaceted realms of our shared inner selves. It’s ambitious stuff that clearly shows that you don’t even need lyrics to say something complex when you’ve got the talent to speak through sound and composition alone, of which RENASSENSE has plenty. This EP is a testament to the power of music in capturing the essence of our shared human experience and inviting us to reflect, connect, and embrace the full spectrum of emotions that make us who we are.
