What’s your story as an artist?

It’s always difficult to remember when that first moment was when I knew I wanted to make music. I just kind of felt it and at one point, it was clear: there is only this one option for me, there is no alternative and I don’t want to do anything else other than DJ and inspire people with my music.

What do you want your music to communicate?

I want to make people happy. It’s such a great feeling when people interact with your music. When they clap their hands, scream, jump and just enjoy the music, it makes me so happy.

What are some sources of inspiration for your storytelling?

The people around me. Every person I spend time with is different and has a different story to tell. Besides experiences from everyday life, it’s these stories and conversations that inspire me.

Who is an artist that you look up to more than others today?

Fisher and Tchami. These guys are so talented and so unique. In my eyes they have everything to be succesfull. Besides that I am also a Bow Anderson fan. She has such an authentic voice and does an amazing job, bit by bit her career is progressing and that’s just impressive to see.

What’s the record or artist that made you realize you wanted to be an artist?

When I was younger and started listening to a lot of music, I also started following the festival shows of the really big DJs. Then I always thought to myself: someday you want to stand there, too.

Tell us about your latest release and how it came about?

It was like a dream come true to release this song with Fedde. When I heard the topline first I was like ‘wow what a nice hook!’ And after a couple of spins I was so in love with the vocal that I wanted to make this tune happen with Fedde.

What inspires your sound?

I listen to a lot of music, also from quite unknown underground DJs and singers from Sweden, Mexico, Australia and all over the world. I’m just in the process of finding my sound. I’m totally trying out a lot right now. During the Corona Virus pandemic I finally had some time to work in the studio, I wouldn’t say I’ve found my own sound yet… but I’m working on it.

What’s your favorite tune of yours?

My first real song, which I released together with the German singer LEONY, will always remain a very special one for me.

Where are some things you really want to accomplish as an artist?

Of course I want to be on the mainstages of the big festivals like Parookaville, Tomorrowland, EDC etc. and of course it would be amazing to have a number 1 hit. I just want to be happy and thankful that I can do what I love. That’s the most important thing.

Was there ever a moment when you felt like giving up?

No, but when all the shows suddenly stopped at the beginning of the pandemic, I was a bit down. Normally I had a gig somewhere every weekend and then suddenly there was just nothing, but I found a great team of people by my side to support me, and I knew that after the pandemic I could take my project to the next level.

What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?

That’s not an easy question to answer. I would say, first and foremost, that my parents’ upbringing gave me a lot of great values that helped me move forward in life and made me the person I am today. That one piece of advice doesn’t really exist. Never giving up and ignoring critics from people who don’t like you is probably one of the best things you can do.

Where do you think the next game changer will be in the music industry and entertainment?

Hmmm, I don’t know. There are so many young, ambitious talents out there. I feel that only very few still manage to really make a name for themselves over several genres, so legends like Michael Jackson back then or actors like Bruce Willis, Michael Douglas, Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks or so, today there are hardly any artists who last for so many years in the industry.
