Accompanying the announcement comes the project’s electrifying third single, “Graveyard Words,” which boasts more of the band’s diverse influences and innovative musicality.

“Graveyard Words” merges the captivating sounds of drum and bass with nods to the unique vibe of Turnstile meshed with a little bit of Kid Cudi. In an audacious exploration of their musical inspirations, Oxymorrons have again dared to create something entirely fresh and crafted a track that breaks free from conventions.

How did you come up with Oxymorrons as a band name?

The idea was always to blend genres and cultures together that normally wouldn’t be together – an oxymoron, if you will – to create something new

Last call is a genre fluid track. What’s the sonic inspiration behind it?

We started off with the piano which gives it a ballad feel but wanted everything else to stray from being a melancholic, slow song. We added a bounce with the hip hop drums and 808s to the verses to give the song a more lively feel, then brought in the uptempo, loud rock chorus and instrumental lead to add more dynamics to the song. Like all of our songs, our inspiration is to use genre fluidity to create a sonic environment that hasn’t been achieved before.

What was the creative process behind these honest lyrics?

It was just that – being honest. Honesty and being vulnerable have the ability to connect with the masses in ways that subtly sometimes does not. We’ve all resulted to the bottom of a bottle to cope with our problems in life. Music has saved our own lives so many times and we wanted to share that opportunity to help ourselves and others with this song.

What is the ultimate message of your act if there is a main one?

To be unapologetically yourself. Never confine yourself to a box, label, genre or someone else’s idea of who you are. If there’s something in this world you want to see, hear, or feel that doesn’t exist, we want to empower people to create it themselves.
