Blending organic instruments with silky vocals and uniquely candid lyricism, Seattle-born and raised artist, songwriter & producer, ALITA, is bringing the honesty back to today’s music scene. Taking influence from artists ranging from India.Arie to LEON, ALITA’s songs share personal stories of navigating young adulthood, feminism, love, and loss through her own unique lens.

Just think of her as your internet big sister. The girl you turn to when you’re unsure of yourself because the thing she does best of all is exactly what you need in those moments: she keeps it real. All of her music has one common thread: it encourages her listeners to be more introspective & honest with themselves, in a day and age when it’s much easier to scroll endlessly and ignore our intuition.

ALITA continues to grow her budding fanbase, racking up hundreds of thousands of streams across her first year’s discography of singles without any label support.

Most recently, she was tapped as one of nine international artists chosen for AC Milan & Roc Nation’s “From Milan With Love: Next Generation” lineup. Her previous singles landed on Spotify’s official ‘Fresh: Pop’ and TIDAL’s official ‘Rising: Pop’ playlists.

Not only does she have the musicality and originality to set her apart, but her business & industry knowledge, paired with her unrelenting grit & focus, make her a force to be reckoned with. She’s an artist you’re bound to see & hear a lot more from in 2021.

She calls her relationship with music a “lifelong journey.”

It wasn’t until I graduated and got a “practical” job in the tech world here in Seattle that I was really honest with myself about how I wanted to spend my life. Since then, it’s been a journey of finding my voice again, figuring out how to navigate a professional studio, networking and navigating the industry.

I spent a lot of time writing & releasing what I thought was popular and what other people would want to hear, but over the last year, I’ve pivoted my vision a lot. This year alone I’m releasing songs I really stand by, songs that I think have a unique perspective and vision and that feel like “me”.

But it’s always a journey of pretending I know what I’m doing and then getting a little wiser each step of the way.”

Her favorite song of her own is “I’m Not Your Mother” because it “was my first release of 2021 & is really important to me. I think my favorite that I’ve written so far is a song that’s not out yet. And hopefully I’ll write my new favorite tomorrow or next week or next month! It’s always changing.”

Her latest track “It Takes Two” It’s such a fun one.

“It feels laid back and easy, which is great because that’s honestly how it was written.” She admits

I wrote it with Jesse Saint John and co-produced it alongside Zach Nicita. The whole process finishing it was pretty effortless, which is kind of unheard of for me. I tend to dive in really deep and be very meticulous.

But this song had a carefree energy to it, and so I did my best not to overthink it. It’s a coming of age story, talking about the moment I realized my own part in a chaotic relationship I was in. I took inspiration from my college breakup that left me really resentful and in a victim mindset.

The song is about coming out of that place and realizing that regardless of someone else’s decisions, you’re always a participant in the situation. And how freeing realizing that can feel. It’s ultimately about taking my power back and taking responsibility for my life and what I allow to enter into it.”
