Their latest LP, the beloved Love Signs, was released last year. A #1 ARIA-certified album in Australia, it was written and produced solely by the band’s Sam Hales and features fan favorites “Heavy Hearted,” “Sending Me Ur Loving,” “In Her Eyes,” “Treat You Right” and title track “Love Signs.”
What do you remember the most from the early days of being a group?
I remember the rehearsals in Keelans parents house while we were still at school. We were essentially mucking around and just being mates. We’re still the exact same. It’s kind of funny to think about it actually. Keelan’s mum would make us some really great sandwiches.
Favorite song of yours?
At the moment it’s Love Signs. It’s been so fun to play live.
What’s your favorite thing about touring?
Well we love playing live, so that’s number 1, but number 2 is probably the food. We all love food, and have a real passion for seeking out restaurants and food that is unique to where we are visiting. We are going to eat so many different types of hot dogs this trip I’m scared.
What can we expect from this tour?
Love Signs the album live baby. We’ve literally been waiting years to share it with our fans in the US. We’ll be chucking in a couple of the old classics too, we know it’s been a while since we’ve been back so you just gotta sometimes.
What’s your relationship with social media, particularly Tik Tok?
Haha, I mean, I think it has a power and a purpose for what we do. I try to not think about it outside of the band socials. I don’t even have a personal insta, I just use the band one. I like to keep it silly and fun. Tik Tok can be good and evil, depends on how much you wanna get from it. I don’t have it, but Cesira loves it, so she’s been running ours.
What are your projects for next year?
I’ve been working on loads of new music atm. Plan is to have a new single out every early into next year. Can’t wait actually, I’m feeling really good about the future, there’s heaps of things I’d like to try and improve on after Love Signs, and the timing just feels right.
