Trappy x Drizz GB Deliver UK Rap with Depth, Grit, and Chemistry
With lyrical precision and undeniable chemistry, Birmingham powerhouses Trappy and Drizz GB are proving that grime and UK rap still have plenty of fresh chapters to write. Their effortless back-and-forth on the mic feels both seasoned and spontaneous—an open musical dialogue shaped by years of personal experience, mutual respect, and a shared drive to elevate the Midlands scene.
Trappy, a long-revered name in UK grime, brings his signature firepower—raw aggression, battle-tested flows, and the kind of sharp delivery that only comes from 15+ years in the game. His pedigree speaks for itself: Red Bull Cypher champion, Lord of the Mics alumnus, and a key player in the historic 0121LEGACY performance alongside Mist, Lady Leshurr, and Jaykae backed by a 75-piece orchestra.
Drizz GB, meanwhile, injects soul into the storm. A storyteller at heart, his bars hit hard not just for their punchlines, but for their personal weight. Coming up through SoundCloud and the PenGame circuit, he’s honed a sound rooted in resilience and realism, delivered with conviction and creative flair.
Together, they make a formidable duo. Whether bouncing verses or building sonic landscapes that stretch beyond grime’s core, they bring a refreshing openness to collaboration—one that hints at even bolder moves ahead.
If this is just the start, 2025 is set to be more than a milestone—it’s a mission.
Your new EP is titled Champion Season—what’s the meaning behind the name, and what can fans expect from the project?
Trappy – The meaning behind the name is following the success of Pengame, championing the essence of Birmingham and leading the new generation with an infrastructure of grime & rap . You can expect a lot of strong grime essence with a mixture of the rap, the New age drill and more to be expected.
Drizz – So the meaning behind the name of the EP champion season was going off the back of what me and Trappy did at Pengame. So going through to the quarters, the semi finals, the finals, off the back of that, the impact we had, it only made sense to do a joint tape. So, yeah. Man, the fans can expect a madness.
How would you describe the sound of this EP?
Trappy – Expect a new generation of grime with a nostalgic touch with influences of the rap, the dancehall slash Afro and trap slash drill, but keeping it to the authentic essence of grime.
Drizz – I’d say it’s a, it’s a, it’s a mash of two different styles, my style and Trappy’s style and what we do together.
