After igniting palpable anticipation for its arrival, 17-year-old New York City singer, songwriter, and producer Sombr shares his new single “weak” out now via Warner Records
He initially posted a snippet of the track on TikTok, which stirred immediate excitement from fans, leading to nearly 4 million views and a staggeringly high engagement rate of 35% alongside over 1,000 organic pieces of user generated content on the platform using the sound. The gut wrenching track encapsulates how it feels to suddenly lose someone close to you. “weak” highlights Sombr’s signature ebb and flow at the heart of his sound.
“weak” has been out for just a day or so, and what is interesting is how the song has affected so many people differently. For me, the music of the song is the main expression of how emotions can change from minute to minute. The lyrics in “weak” almost contradict each other, which I guess is somehow how my brain works on a daily basis.
I wrote this song in NYC and started recording it in my bedroom. The song really bloomed and became what it is today after I brought the initial tracks to LA to work with Tony Berg.
