In keeping with Laraw’s personal and raw production, the “Scissors” lyrics narrate the angsty effects of a heartbreak, complemented by her stunning vocals. “Scissors is about the grief of having a loved one completely destroy you,” said Laraw. “Knowing they will and just letting it happen.”
“Scissors is for sure the most important song I’ve ever written and marked a new chapter of my life” said Laraw. “I got to actually meet myself, grow, and learn that the first person you should always love is yourself.”

1. Do you cherish your Moroccan and Lebanese roots? How does your background influence your music?
I absolutely cherish my roots, but I don’t think they necessarily influence my music.
2. What do you think makes you a unique artist?
Just being myself!
3. What’s your creative/songwriting process like?
My songs are chapters of my life. I just write about whatever is currently going on in my life and then I share it with the people I collaborate with and we go from there. I journal A LOT!
4. Why is this song, “Scissors,” special in your opinion?
It’s a really raw track. It’s a very special song for me because it marks the end of a long chapter of my life. But with every end comes a new beginning and that’s where I’m at now! I just hope that people going through a hard breakup can find comfort in knowing they’re not alone and that it’s normal to feel like you’re going through it for a while.
5. Who are you top 3 dream collabs
My answer honestly changes every week but right now it’s: Harry Styles, Joji, Yeek
