The New York City party scene has a new player. Her name is Chlomosexual and her next rager is called Pink Pony Rave. It’s happening this Friday Sept 20th at Brooklyn Monarch and you better be there.
Tell us how you went from selling software to throwing parties and what made you want to transition.
It all started with a “coming out” party that I threw for myself in April of 2023. Planning and promoting that party, I felt a sense of passion I had never felt before. But still stuck under the security of a day job, I told everyone, including myself, that it was just my hobby.
The turning point came when I threw a Saltburn Party at 3 Dollar Bill in January of 2024 that over 1200 people attended and the New York Times covered. It was a validating moment that the things I’ve learned working in Tech that made me successful can be applied to anything.
You said that your parties feel like house parties with 1000 people. What is your main vision when you throw an event?
When it comes to the space, I prioritize venues that allow me to lay the party out in a way that I feel allows people to be social with each other. It sounds like a silly thing to call out, but when an entire party is one super loud room, it’s harder to chit chat and meet new people. So, while I do have the big party room, there’s also other spaces incorporated where you can just chill and socialize. More often than not, that also incorporates an outdoor space that’s attached to the venue – because I don’t want to leave the party to smoke, and neither do my guests.

What can you anticipate about the next event?
September 20th, I’m turning the 30,000 square foot Brooklyn Monarch into a Pink Pony Rave for a night of Chappell Roan and queer pop hits.
The dance floor (setup boiler room style,) features DJs Luis Fernando, ZOSA and Tasheff, live visuals by Tina Tarighian and a special performance by Chrissy Chlapecka. NYC’s favorite legal cannabis brand, FLAMER is taking over the garden to ensure the vibes are just right for anyone looking to chill, smoke, flirt, make new friends etc.
