Emirati-British creative Alya is joined by Nigerian rapper Lifesize Teddy (Mavin Records) on the “Glitter & Gold” Remix, out today via LPME Records/Studios. On the empowering Afro-pop track, the duo provoke thoughtful reflection as they speak on the importance of self-love. The single serves as a reminder that not everything shiny is worth holding onto.

“I wanted to create something fun and upbeat that people can dance to, but also deliver a meaningful message,” Alya shares on the single. “Even though the track has an energetic vibe, it touches on themes like self-love and making smart choices, reminding listeners that not everything shiny is as great as it seems. It’s about having fun while also feeling empowered to value yourself and make decisions that reflect your worth.”

On the collaboration, Alya shares:

When I first met Teddy, it felt like reconnecting with a childhood friend I hadn’t seen in years. It was amazing! Shooting the visualizer only brought us closer, allowing us to collaborate and truly enjoy the incredible song we created together.”

“I heard it one time and was so jealous I didn’t come up with it,”says Lifesize Teddy on the original version of the song. “It’s so beautifully written, I had to have a part in it. Because the story is one I’m very familiar with, it was pretty seamless to connect. I had my verse written and recorded so quickly!”
