The New Orleans-based multi-instrumentalist does it all—produces, raps, sings—and brings a sound that’s hard to pin down in the best way. His new single “Can’t Get Enough” drops this Friday, June 20th and pushes the line between alt-rock and hip-hop, blending grungy guitars and a brooding vibe with the melodic pull of early SoundCloud rap. It’s defiant and hypnotic, a response to doubters that only makes him hungrier: “I can’t get enough, get enough, get enough—it’s like dope,” he repeats. The track follows his recent emo-trap release “Problematic,” and both will land on his upcoming EP, out this summer via EUROVZN / NEWWRLD. If you’ve been sleeping on Kee, this is a good time to tap in!

“Can’t Get Enough” feels like it was born in a basement at 3AM with the speakers cracked all the way up. What headspace were you in when this track came to life?

I walked into the studio, was tired of everybody hatin on me, & the song pretty much made itself.

You’re blurring the edges between alt-rock, hip-hop, and emo-trap—but none of it feels forced. Do you think genre even matters anymore, or are we finally free?

That’s a great question! No, we are not free because people are still going to call me a rapper! I feel like genres do matter for certain artists but for me as a kid I listened to every genre so making different genre music comes natural to me.

The hook—“I can’t get enough, get enough, get enough—it’s like dope”—feels obsessive in the best way. What’s the addiction here: the grind, the music, the proving people wrong?

The addiction is “ME”! The haters can’t get enough of hatin on me because “they love to hate me so much”! I was really being sarcastic to them. Them hating on me that’s the real addiction

Coming off “Problematic,” this new single is a mood shift—less confessional, more confrontational. Is this the evolution of Kee Nola or just another layer of the same story?

This is not an evolution because this is just another layer to who I really am as an artist. It’s not new to me but it’s new to the world because I haven’t gave the fans / people everything yet so stay tuned!

You’re a multi-instrumentalist, producer, rapper, and singer. When you build a track, what usually hits you first—the vibe, the words, or the drums?

The most important part of every song to me is the melody. The melody brings everything together. The melody is like the meat to the sandwich you can’t have a sandwich without it

New Orleans has such a rich musical DNA. How does the city show up in your sound, even when you’re pulling from grunge or trap?

I’m born & raised in New Orleans so it’s in me & I can’t escape it because it’s in my DNA. It’s where I come from

You’ve got over a million streams and hundreds of thousands of followers—but Can’t Get Enough still feels like it’s hungry for something more. What are you chasing right now?

I’m chasing respect. For people to respect me as an artist & as a producer. I want people to see me & give me credit for my work

This EP feels like it’s going to be messy in all the right ways. What’s one thing you’re unpacking on this record that you haven’t said before?

It’s so many different sounds that I’ve been working on that I’m getting more comfortable with perfecting my sound, my art, & expressing it to the world. The fans just have to listen & find out

With SoundCloud rap vibes meeting live-band energy, would you ever take this project into a full rock show setup? Is that the vision?

Yes, having a live band performance has always been a dream of mine so that’s the goal

For someone who’s just pressing play on Kee Nola for the first time with “Can’t Get Enough”—what’s the one line or moment you hope sticks with them?

“Just do me wrong because I can’t live my life surrounded by fear!”
