Norwegian avant-garde cult figure Vilde Tuv has never been content to stay in one lane. Her music—part performance art, part shapeshifting experiment—has already traversed folk, trance, ambient, and pop with a singular curiosity. Now, on September 19, she releases her first English-language LP, Truthbomb, via Poesy Records, marking not just a new chapter but a profound expansion of her artistic universe.

A Hypnotic Centerpiece: “Life Experience”

At the heart of Truthbomb is “Life Experience”, a majestic meditation woven from soaring flutes, breezy synths, and hypnotic rhythms. Produced and arranged by Tuv herself, with contributions from Niilas and Mira Thiruchelvam, the track feels like both a lullaby and a ritual—an invitation to reflect, breathe, and reconnect with the body.

“This album is about creating space,” Tuv shares. “A space for forgiveness, safety, and comfort. I want my music to be a place where people can reconnect with themselves and admit what is true.”

Between the Intimate and the Monumental

Truthbomb extends Tuv’s reputation as “Norway’s finest one-woman orchestra”, fusing poetic sincerity with fearless experimentation. Known for her genre-defying approach, she has been praised as “a unique force in the avant-garde” (Highclouds) and “poised and regal, like a sunburst breaking through a rift in the clouds” (Resident Advisor).

Where her 2021 album Melting Songs leaned into Celtic-inspired instrumentals, and her Grammy-nominated debut D’meg embraced a folk-pop sensibility, Truthbomb moves between ambient stillness and rhythmic physicality. It’s an album that tests the edges of vulnerability while carving out new emotional and sonic portals.

A Shapeshifter in Motion

Beyond the studio, Tuv has long been a boundary-pushing presence. With support from fellow Nordic innovators like Smerz and Jenny Hval, she has performed at global stages including Le Guess Who?, bringing her flute-led, delicately raw performances into dance, film, and gallery spaces. Her work balances fragility and force, often feeling as if it were conjured in real time.

Earlier this summer, singles “Morning Wind” and “Solace in the Sun” introduced audiences to her English-language voice, the latter spawning remixes from Merely (Year0001) and DJ IBON (Bunkerbauer). Together, they teased the album’s lush but radical spirit: a sonic environment where pop, trance, and experimental folk collide.

The Truthbomb Era

With its 10 tracks—including “Start/Stop,” “The Only Way Out is Through,” and “Old Stone”—Truthbomb isn’t just an album title. It’s a philosophy. Tuv dares to stretch music into a space where bodies, impulses, and emotions are laid bare, testing how far sound itself can carry us toward honesty.

To celebrate the release, she embarks on an 8-stop Scandinavian tour this fall, bringing her intimate yet monumental performances back to the stage.
