Nashville-based indie-pop artist, Amanda Stone, has served up another juicy piece of ear candy with her latest single, “Stereo Stereo.” The innuendo-laced bop, driven by an unrelenting dance beat and a heavy synth bass, showcases Stone’s signature transgressive playfulness. When a gang of cheerleaders counts off to an orgasmic explosion at the break, Stone’s conspicuous joy in what and how she creates is palpable, infectious, and a little disorienting – leaving us questioning whether we’ve stumbled into a party or an orgy. “We laughed the entire time,” says Stone of the experience of recording it with her collaborator – producer, and songwriter Gregory Lattimer (Albert Hammond Jr., Aaron Lee Tasjan, *repeat repeat, Mya Byrne) – at Make Sound Good Studio.
“The hook ‘love me in stereo’ came out of the ether, and it felt electric in that moment. We built the song around it. Writing about sex like it’s the 1950s.” We’ll follow Stone anywhere her sexy time-traveling wants to take us, and “Stereo Stereo” is the latest single in a series of joyful, subversive releases from an exciting artist. Keep your eyes and ears on Amanda Stone for more tragicomic mashups of indie-pop delight.
