What’s your story as an artist?
My story is pretty simple, I’m just an R&B singer/songwriter who is happy to have the space to express myself. Having others who enjoy it & follow me on my music journey is so thrilling to me. Forever grateful.
What inspired the song and music video for “I Don’t Mind”?
The production set the tone and inspired me to be my sassy and upfront self. The bassline is so demanding – I thought it would be a perfect time to show my bossy persona with a side of sexy. With the groove put together, I HAD to go retro. I love the ’70-’80s era with the fashion, music, sense of style in all aspects. Totally was in my Donna Summers bag!

Any funny anecdotes from the time you were recording, writing, or filming “I Don’t Mind”?

Off the top of my head, I’d have to say Prince’s album and film Purple Rain. The emotion, the energy, and the sincerity are addicting. It definitely shaped my approach to songwriting and showmanship.
