Bryan Kang aka BKANG is a DJ, songwriter, performer, and producer. BKANG hails from a music and technology background and believes that music can bond people together from all parts of the world and that is what he aims to achieve with his music.

BKANG arrives in early 2022 with his electrifying offering ‘Take You Home’. The song was a unique creative experience for BKANG, who created the song virtually with singer-songwriter Gillian Caruso

“It’s one of the most interesting songs I’ve created. Due to the global pandemic, all the communications were done through text messages and email. I sent the instrumental part of the song to Gillian and then we agreed on the theme of the song. Gillian wrote the lyrics and sang the vocals and the mixing was done.”  BKANG shares.
The instrumental part of the track was created in his cousin’s basement in NYC, where BKANG jotted down ideas in Logic and brought the project to life.

“This song talks about individuals wanting to have fun and get into a new relationship.” BKANG adds.

BKANG’s songs have deep meaning and with his music, he wants to showcase how music affects people. A look at his songs will give one a good understanding of the kind of music that BKANG is making.

How did you get to where you are now?

I got to where I am now by just simply making a lot of mistakes and just learning from those mistakes, and quite frankly, I made a lot of mistakes while working on Take You Home. But, I learned from those mistakes and made the necessary adjustments to make the song sound the way it is today.

What should a song or piece of art communicate in your opinion?

It should communicate feelings and emotions, if a song can move you in some type of way, it’s a good song.

Tell us about your latest release and how it came about

It’s one of the most interesting songs I’ve created. Due to the global pandemic, all the communications were done through text messages and email. I sent the instrumental part of the song to Gillian and then we agreed on the theme of the song. Gillian wrote the lyrics and sang the vocals and the mixing was done. The instrumental part of the track was created in his cousin’s basement in NYC, where BKANG jotted down ideas in Logic and brought the project to life.

What is something you would want to change in the music and entertainment industry?

How much money artists nowadays make from their music. The money that an artist earns from each stream is extremely low.

Can you outline your creative process?

I usually start by laying down the chords or creating the melody of the lead synth and just search for the sounds that I like and see what I can make from there.

Who inspires your style and aesthetics?

Some artists that really inspire me are Queen, Michael Jackson, AC/DC, Afrojack, Illenium, and Marshmello

What is the achievement or moment in your career you are the most proud of and why?

Releasing this single. I’ve released a lot of songs in past but have ultimately taken them down because I just didn’t like the way they sounded, however, I spent a lot of time working on Take You Home and I’m very pleased with the way the song came to be and how it sounds.

What do you think an artist should sing about nowadays?

Anything they want, as I said earlier, a song just has to move you in some type of way. If it does, it’s a good song.

Do you have any regrets?

I wouldn’t call them regrets, more just mistakes that I’ve made in the past and how I can learn from those mistakes to become smarter and a better person.

What is some piece of advice you would give to yourself right now?

Be a sponge and always continue to learn about new things. And also don’t be lazy.
