Electro pop artist Gwyn Love and Toronto producer/artist La+ch present an incredible collaborative effort with the release of “♡ x +” available for streaming everywhere via 604 Records. The release is accompanied by a psychotropic visualizer lyric video for “sum 1 nu”.

Gwyn Love and La+ch introduced their “♡ x +” collaboration earlier this year with the release of the lead track “Shit I Like.” The EP features two new track, focus single “sum 1 nu” and “vibin’,” a track that certainly lives up to its name. Maintaining Gwyn Love’s infectious punk attitude while La+ch turned up the voltage on the electronic, danceable atmosphere, the pairing created an irresistible collection that can easily be taken from the bedroom to the dance floor.

Tell us about the genesis of your project. How did you get to where you are now?

I’ve been writing songs since I was 11 but it wasn’t clear to me what I wanted to do until I started going to raves in college. I got my first song produced by Chad Petree and it had that rave element to it. I ended up sending it to Jonathan Simkin and he signed me to his label. I feel as though I have stuck within that same genre but the writing has gotten better with time for sure.

How would you describe the highs and lows of being an artist?

Sometimes I feel fully capable of dealing with everything, with writing, posting, and getting feedback. Sometimes someone telling me they don’t like a song of mine but they like all the others can send me into a spiral of doubting myself and my music. It’s a lot of emotions because I feel so connected to my music, I mean, I wrote it after all. One thing I can say is, the highs are definitely worth dealing with the lows.

Who are your all time musical icons?

I feel like my answer changes every time I’m asked this question haha. Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Zedd, Alison Wonderland, Bea Miller, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Galantis. Honestly I could go on forever, I didn’t even include my punk/pop icons

What are some things to do to keep your inspiration alive?

Experiencing life, watching cool movies, talking to people, meeting new people. Life inspires me.

Who is an artist that you look up to more than others today?

I look up to Miley Cyrus a lot because she is unapologetically herself, always. She writes what she wants to write, wears what she wants to wear, and speaks her mind. I think more artists need to be less filtered.

Favorite activity to blow off some steam?

Dancing, cleaning, running, and long drives.

Tell us about your latest release and how it came about

I was feeling stressed about writing something that people would like, so I decided to write a song about the shit I like. It was meant to take off the pressure, but I really liked it a lot.

What are some things you do to deal with anxiety and creative blocks?

For anxiety, I love to go on walks and read. When I have creative blocks, I do a lot of journaling because I can possibly use what I write in a song later. I also will sit down at the piano and just sing whatever comes to mind.

What’s the future looking like for you?

Hopefully some live shows soon. I’m moving to California in January!

Who inspires your style and aesthetics?

I feel like I pick little pieces from a lot of different people and things that I see and just throw them together.

What is the achievement or moment in your career you are the most proud of and why?

I’m most proud of being signed to 604 Records and getting to work with the talented musicians with 604.

What do you think is the best way to make it as an artist nowadays?

I think writing songs that people relate to and also sharing enough about your life that people relate to you as a person as well. Posting a lot on social media.
