Nashville indie/alt duo Elenowen have shared the title track from their forthcoming album Say I Don’t Scare You, available to stream now on all DSPs worldwide. The album will be the Nashville duo’s fourth studio full-length album, and is slated for release on November 5th. The song is an emotional alt-folk ballad where Nicole puts everything out on the table.
“She’s saying, ‘Tell me I can fully be myself – even if it looks completely different than it did years ago – and that it doesn’t scare you. Stay with me as I’m falling apart,’” Josh Johnson explains.
Josh and Nicole Johnson are the married couple that make up Elenowen (a name lent from the middle names of their parents “Ellen” and “Owen”). The upcoming album is themed as a conversation between the two of them in the midst of uprooting and examining old truths, and the fight to keep their love alive. Ultimately the process has allowed the duo to grow and change together, resulting in a stronger musical and loving partnership than ever before.

With ever-present harmonies that fans have come to know and love, Elenowen’s sound is a blend of folk pop and alternative-rock.
After appearing as contestants on the first season of NBC’s The Voice in 2011, the duo began touring extensively, steadily growing their fanbase all over the country. Their autobiographical songwriting style was first introduced in their debut album Pulling Back the Veil, unpacking and reflecting on the first year of the couple’s marriage. The follow-up album, For the Taking, which was produced by renowned songwriter Trent Dabbs and Jeremy Bose, focused on growing up and pushing forward to achieve lifelong dreams.
