Hyperpop singer-songwriter That Kid is returning to his roots. Over the past few years, the artist gained traction with his Ayesha Erotica and Slayyyter-collaboration “Dial Tone” (which has accumulated millions of streams); made songs with underscores, Chase Icon, BAYLI, and Terror Jr.; and headlined performances across North America (including at numerous Boiler Room, Heav3n, and Subculture shows): a journey that’s seen him constantly evolve with a prolific output. Now, he’s back to nourishing his core musical sensibilities.
“My new song Q.O.S.D is a song I’ve had in the vault for about a year. I had a major crisis musically and felt very unsure of what I wanted to make, until I found the demo again and revisited the idea. It’s a very sparkly, girly, and bubbly song with probably some of my most graphic lyrics yet. I love that kind of contrast in music. This song kind of made me believe in myself again.”
