Natalie Shay is an indie-pop artist hailing from North London. The multi-award-winning musician has established an ever-growing presence and loyal fanbase through her explosive live performances and unforgettable anthems, recognising her as one of the UK’s hottest emerging talents. Her relatable lyrics touch on love, self-discovery and the everyday experiences of a twenty-something.

Combining her youthful and charismatic aura with her classical training and time spent at the prestigious BRIT School, Shay has finessed the ability to produce undeniably catchy music, whilst maintaining musical maturity. Compared to the likes of Haim, Little Comets and Fickle Friends, the Londoner has absorbed similar energy and dynamics within her new music, resulting in a sound that oozes with passion and allure.

Her latest track “New Wave” talks about the butterflies and excitement of entering into a romantic direction with someone. There is an uncertainty of not knowing how it will play out, but also a desire to remain in a bubble of amorous emotions.

“I feel like it’s a summer song but not like a big start of the summer anthem. I think this is the right time for it to be released as I guess it’s essentially about new beginnings and the year tends to restart around september. I think it’s a nice song to drive to lol.”

“I wrote and recorded ‘New Wave’ with Kaity Rae. I have known kaity since we were both very young as we went to theatre school together, she is now a full time writer/producer and has writing cuts with the shires, GIRLI and liv dawson. I also wrote and recorded my track ‘owe it to you’ with kaity which I released on my debut EP last year.” Natalie continues

“We wrote this song in sections, initially we had just written the verses and chorus and when it came round to me choosing it as the next single we got together and finished it off. we recorded the track at kaitys studio in finsbury park and wrote it at her house. guitars were played by joey bradick, it was mixed by ‘ mixed by gaz ‘ mastered by jonathan vears”
