Retro-futuristic pop project Lynda comprises Russ Harley and Youcef Khelil, and was born during a writing session in Lewisham, London in 2016.

The duo have built a polished, aesthetic world for their listeners to explore – “Lynda is like an alien flower that ushers in the age of robots and artificial intelligence,” Youcef points out. Inspired by the Japanese synthpop artists YMO and Hiroshi Sato, as well as soundtracks from the 80s and 90s (especially Blade Runner and Twin Peaks), Lynda have developed a universe in perpetual expansion.

‘Under The Pines’ is an invitation to escape, to get lost in the song’s depth and richness. A distorted bassline vibrates, airy analogue synths shimmer and Youcef’s melodies soar with desire. A warm yet airy track, the intensity varies throughout. Lynda traps us easily in their celestial and psychedelic atmosphere – limitless in its depth, soothing and ethereal in equal measure.
