Formerly known as Macy Kate, the decision to rebrand asMAYCE was driven by a desire to align her artistic identity more closely with her personal growth and artistic vision. The new name captures her unique spirit and represents a renewed sense of self-expression, while staying true to her core values and musical artistry.

MAYCE has been making waves in the music industry since her early career as Macy Kate, captivating audiences with her powerful vocals and heartfelt performances. With a dedicated fan base spanning the globe, she has accumulated millions of streams and views across various platforms, and her music continues to resonate with listeners of all ages.

What made you want to rebrand?

I felt like I outgrew Macy Kate. I felt like I hit a plateau creatively and, at the time, wasn’t sure what it was. I had been playing around with the name MAYCE but was being held back by people saying it would “set me back in the business” and “I had already established myself as Macy Kate” so I never did it. Shortly after that, I had weeded some people out of my inner circle who were holding me back and decided to make the jump to change my name to MAYCE. Ultimately, I felt like I outgrew that era of my life and was ready to move into a new chapter. MAYCE stems from a nickname for Macy that I’ve had my whole life and it just made sense.

What can we expect from this new chapter of your artistic life?

You can expect a new sound, new visuals, and a more mature outlook on life. I’ve grown, experienced, and lived a lot of things and I will be speaking on it throughout this next chapter as MAYCE.

You’ve worked with some massive names in the industry. What are some memorable collaborations and lessons learned?

Of course touring with Flo Rida will always be a staple in my career and everything he included me on was so exciting and I’ll never forget that. As far as lessons I’ve learned, I would have to say be authentic. People can see through artists who aren’t fully authentic. Be bold, be brave, be unapologetic, but be authentic most importantly. I have really taken that step recently and I feel freer than I ever have.

You are famous for some great renditions of other artists. What are some of your main influences?

I get a lot of inspo from piano driven records. I grew up playing piano and it really is an instrument that, I believe, can change the meaning of any song. It’s a very vulnerable instrument and completely strips down records. I love it so much. The piano is definitely my main influence.

Who is a dream collab for you?

I think about this all the time but the person at the top of my list in Post Malone. I love him and his authenticity with this sound and how versatile he is. I think we could make magic.
