Kitsuné-backed enigma known as mynameisleonidas will release his latest single, “lands.” Fresh off being named one of Pigeons & Planes Best New Artists, “lands” sees the mysterious producer exploring new territory, bringing forth a bass-heavy baroque banger. Speaking on the song, mynameisleonidas asks himself: “What if the Spartans did a music battle against the Persians?

mynameisleonidas is an artist from an undisclosed location somewhere on earth. We still haven’t met, nor spoken, all we know is he’s a he. The music is a unique blend of the best sounds in pop, rock, and hip hop, occasionally sprinkled with vintage greek lyra and polish spoken word. This could either lead us to find out more about him, or simply lead us up the garden path. One thing we know for sure, though his past remains a blur, is he most definitely is a beacon for our future.

music can give so many emotions, it depends of people’s story. but i would say love, weirdness.

I like tyler the creator, he’s a unique musician.

What’s the record or artist that made you realize you wanted to be an artist ?

when i was really young, music was omnipresent in my life, gods were showing up and playing all day long. i fell in love with this world. i always wanted to be an artist. i think you become an artist when you start sharing emotions with people around you.

Tell us about “lands” and how it came about

“lands” is my first satisfying song, i wanted something strong and melodious at the same time.

What inspires your sound?

when i’m sad i jump on my instruments to refresh myself. it works so well, sadness inspires me the most.

What’s your favorite tune of yours?

my favorite will drop soon.

Where are some things you really want to accomplish as an artist?

to be honest, make sure people sing my songs and inspire other artists would be a nice gift from Apollo.

i think “elevate in the village” is cool

Was there ever a moment when you felt like giving up?

honestly no, music is my life, i am blessed by gods to have had this opportunity and i cannot give up on something i love to do.

What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?

don’t mess with centaurs.

Where do you think the next game changer will be in the music industry and entertainment scene?

i don’t know, i think so many things have changed, and at the same time the recipe is the same.
