Novulent unveils “evil eye,” an enthralling new swirl of shoegaze, darkwave, and big atmosphere that embodies the overwhelming influence of love and lust. The song is the third single shared thus far from the Texas-based artist’s forthcoming album, VOL.3, which tells the story of a powerful romance as it evolves over time. The single arrives shortly after Novulent’s announcement that they will be opening for Violent Vira’s Chasing Ghosts North American Tour on a run of dates, kicking off July 15, before embarking on their own headlining BEFORE VOL.3 TOUR on September 30, which will include an October 3 stop at Furnace Festival in Birmingham, Alabama. “evil eye is the third song leading into my album VOL3. Building off of the story I have been laying out for VOL.3 evil eye is about the unapologetic and euphoric feeling you get when you’re back with ‘that’ specific person that ruined you. Like a forbidden love that rush you get knowing its so wrong it feels so right. “
“Im heavily inspired by vampires and their mythology so I took that in mind while making this song.”
“Darkwave/goth music influenced this track specifically.”

Novulent’s latest follows the lead single “new low,” a bittersweet dream-pop confection that landed on Alternative Press’ “A-sides: 10 songs you need to hear” while inspiring kind words from Pop Cultr: “The track takes listeners on a raw journey through the emotional complexities of staying in a toxic relationship […] Novulent blends hard rock, shoegaze, and emo influences seamlessly in ‘new low,’ drawing inspiration from their personal experiences with heartbreak and emotional turmoil.”
