He also worked on Yena’s debut mini-album, “Smiley”, and will contribute to her upcoming mini-album, “Good Morning”. Drew Louis produced the main single for the Drag Isn’t Dangerous digital fundraising event and Trinity the Tuck’s album, “Sinematic” and about a year ago, he received the Music Forward LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Award from Live Nation.
But let’s talk a bit about his latest work, in collaboration with Jillian Rossi. The track titled “Ms. Claus,” is a timely holiday song inspired by the sound and optimism of early 2000s pop and R&B.
The sound of Christmas music brings a unique warmth and joy that envelops the spirit like a cozy blanket, and “Ms. Claus” feels like a breath of fresh, minty candy cane air. A nostalgic, Christmas-positive sound that comes with the fun and clever wordplay of its empowering lyricism. Regarding its inception, Louis states: “Jillian and I were hanging in my studio after a session, and she was like ‘Do you happen to have any Christmas songs?’ and I played her the demo of ‘Ms. Claus’. We got her vocal on it, and we instantly knew that Jillian was the missing piece to take this song to another level.”
Louis is quickly establishing himself as a talented songwriter and producer, effectively marrying his impeccable musical vision with the unique voices of his collaborators, and this latest work alongside Jillian Rossi proves that he’s got a wide creative range. So if you’re looking to get into a holiday party spirit, look no further than “Ms. Claus” to get the hot buttered rum flowing already!
