Jakke is a multi-faceted artist with roots in alternative rock, who has made a bold leap into the dance music realm with his latest single, ‘Reckoning.’

Previously known for his work under the moniker Enjune, Jakke has transitioned his talents to explore new sonic territories, earning him recognition on top playlists like Spotify’s Chill Tracks and New in Dance, and Apple’s New in Alternative.

‘Reckoning’ is developed with ethereal vocals and introspective lyrics that invite you to discover your emotional depths. Jakke’s voice resonates against a background of electronic rhythms and lively instrumentation, creating a fascinating fusion of genres that captivates from start to finish.

The lyrics of ‘Reckoning’ refer to loneliness, injustice, and maybe even a hint of empathy – a necessary quality in these times of humanity. Lines like: “A reckoning / A long way up / A million words / One that says enough,” convey the feeling of tiredness towards the negative things the world is experiencing and the need to stop them. The chorus delivers a powerful message of unity and connection: “I feel your pain / If only we could see we’re all the same / We’re all the same.”

“The message of this song came to me after feeling distraught by the horrors of war and suffering that I routinely saw online in the news and social media. Whether it was disturbingly tragic images from the Middle East, Eastern Europe, South America, or beyond, I felt overwhelmed with sadness and unsure of just how to respond,” he said. Furthermore, he assures that his hope with this song is to speak directly to all those who are going through difficult times around the world.

“‘I see you and I feel for you.’ I hope anyone else who hears this can bring awareness and empathy to those who do not have the luxury of safety and peace.”

Jakke’s passion for music traversed various genres, leading him to seamlessly transition from the world of alternative rock into the realm of dance music, honing his skills as a DJ. By seamlessly fusing live instruments with electronic elements, Jakke now delivers captivating hybrid performances that enrapture audiences.
