Revenge Wife is the solo project of HOLYCHILD lead singer, Liz Nistico. Following an eight-year stint with HOLYCHILD, and a successful first year as a solo artist, Nistico continues to push the envelope with Revenge Wife. Those who have witnessed her life as an artist can attest that she’s no stranger to evolution.
In her time with HOLYCHILD, Nistico used their far-reaching platform to expound feminism in pop culture, releasing highly-personal songs “Wishing You Away,” “Carmelo,” and “Bathroom Bitch.” She was also able to further her skill set as an artist– directing all of the music videos, getting a record deal with Glassnote Records, touring the world, and playing multiple festivals (Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, ACL, FujiRock).
“These are the first two songs I’m releasing from the debut Revenge Wife album. I am so proud of them. It’s interesting because the last question of so many interviews is always ‘what advice do you have for other artists?’ And I realize now, that it’s just: Keep going. Finally I am making music that is exactly what I want to hear, and that has only come from years of growing into myself as a songwriter.
I used to wonder, why am I not more well-known? Not that I want that, but I really want the financial stability that comes along with it. I have been pushing the ball up the hill for so long with HOLYCHILD and now with my new project and when does it pay off? I was feeling a little annoyed at the universe about it all last year. But, I am just letting everything go now. I want to be so patient in the way life unfolds, because that’s how I am with the creative process so why do I not apply it to my life? Life is the ultimate creation, after all.”
“DEATHWISH and Holiday are so special to me. I feel like they’re more than songs, they are little worlds that we can step into when they’re on. When you play them, you can be transported inside a bubble of pink light onto an island in the future where everything worked out exactly the way you wanted. That’s what I want to lay out for everyone.”
