Riffing off the title of the new track, how are you different now?

I think over the last couple of years I’ve learned to understand that people are very complex in their nature and that just because sometimes their actions can feel like a reflection of you, they most likely aren’t. I’ve been recovering from my own personal losses in relationships, and although it’s been difficult to say the least, I haven’t become jaded and I think that’s something!

What’s the best way to overcome toxic or difficult relationships?

For me personally, investing in myself and my space. I try to make my home feel cozy even if it just means buying a new candle or two and hanging out with my cat. I like to do a hard reset and change up my routines as well as spend a lot of time alone reflecting or getting outside in nature. I think the best way to get through anything is by reconnecting with yourself and spending time alone isn’t a bad thing.

What usually inspires your songwriting?

I think mostly people! People are so complex and relationships are so interesting to me. I also love traveling and taking a step back from songwriting to experience the world around me and usually that inspires me when I am feeling blocked.

What are some of your main inspirations today?

Right now, I’m listening to Holly Humberstone, Gracie Abrams, and Taylor Swift! I think after finishing my album, I’m excited to celebrate it and let it breathe in the world for a bit and see how people relate. It’s definitely scary to release such a big project, but I’ve been inspired by artists like Taylor Swift since I was a kid, and as I grow and learn more in this industry, she has kept me inspired the whole way!

What can we expect from your future as an artist?

My upcoming album “Lanterns” is out November 10th 2023 and I am so excited for you to hear it! It’s been a long time coming. I’m looking forward to celebrating this milestone for myself and hopefully having another opportunity to tour and perform my music for people around the world!
