Shady Blu has just been announced as a new signee at MixedbyAli’s No Name Recordings/Interscope records and she’s already set to rock the scene by storm.

The California native released her debut single ‘Jealousy’ and follows up with a music video with a glowing summer feel that follows Shady around where she eventually ends up at a backyard pool party hanging out with friends and ignoring the jealousy around her.

In an exclusive conversation with Mundane, Shady revealed how ‘this track reflects such a natural feeling, you know! We’ve all felt it and we will all feel it day to day. Whether it’s toxic competition among artists and creatives, relationships or friendships gone sour, we always battle jealousy.”

Shady Blu is a master of atmosphere. Pairing gentle yet expressive vocals with nakedly vulnerable lyrics, the California singer/songwriter and rapper merges her pensive ruminations with lush ambient soundscapes to create theme songs for the aspirational and the misunderstood.

“I want to be suggestive and bring all the vibes in my music. It’s very important for me that my audience feels the same way I felt when I made the song. Communication is key in my book!’

When we ask her about her collaboration with Derek Ali (otherwise known as MixedByAli) she simply lights up!

“It’s the most amazing story! I was rapping and toying around with music all throughout high school until I decided to get serious with it. After some trial and error I came up with some good tracks, one of them was called ‘Dream$.’

I was looking for producers and partners to get my music to the next level and found Derek on IG so I thought I’d slide in his DMs and show him some of my stuff without any expectation I’d even see it.”

By 2021, she’d been signed to Ali’s NoName Recordings and hard at work to develop her insane potential.

“I have SO MUCH in the works it’s crazy! I’m still exploring all my capabilities both creatively and personally and getting used to being in the studio 24/7 and developing ideas and turning them into songs! I want to start performing live and build a catalog of music that represents me and what I’m going through in life, unapologetically and authentically. That’s the Shady Blu way!”
