Since forming the band in 2014, one performance after another paved the way for JAGMAC’s quiet rise independently. Their 2016 single “Soldiers”reached #1 on Billboard’s Breakout Chart for Dance Club Songs, peaked at #15 on the Dance Club Songs Chart, and #5 on the Commercial Pop Chart. In 2018, JAGMAC released their debut EP featuring title track “Right Back With You” which shot to #6 on the Commercial Pop Top 30 in the UK and #3 on the Upfront CLUB Top 30 UK. That same year, the band was crowned Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing placing them in good company with alumni such as Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Alessia Cara, and Why Don’t We. They soon returned with their sophomore EP, Like A Band, featuring lead single and title track “Like A Band” which launched over 1 million streams and received support from Sirius XM and Spotify on the Pop Remix, Happy Beats, and Dance Rising playlists.
What’s your story as an artist? Who is JAGMAC?
Our story as artists goes way back to when we were all kids constantly listening to music and singing for our family here and there. But it wasn’t until our oldest brother, CJ, wrote a song and taught it to us for our Dad’s surprise birthday party. After the performance, our dad was so impressed he thought we should pursue music for real! JAGMAC (Jared, Angelique, Gabriel, Manjo, Alyssa & CJ) is a name that our mom came up with, which represents us well since every single sibling is a member of the band.
What inspired your single, “We Found Love”?
We wrote “We Found Love” this past spring while staying in Miami, FL, surrounded by beautiful weather, people, amazing food, and just an overall good vibe. Being around so much beauty and culture, we knew we had to share the tropical theme we were experiencing at the time. “We Found Love” is a simple, story-telling love song that hooks you in from the moment you hear it. We love it!
What are some sources of inspiration for your storytelling?
Our sources come from our own experiences in life. Whether that’s a place, a person, or a specific memory, we always want to write honestly from the heart.
Are there any funny anecdotes you can share from the time you were recording or writing “We Found Love” or one of your other recent singles?
Yes, actually. The song was written about a girl that one of our brothers liked at the time, however, she is now recently engaged to someone new. Lol. I guess some things weren’t meant to be…
What do you hope fans take away after listening to the new track?
We hope that whenever they hear this song, they will be instantly happy. It’s one of those songs that makes you reflect on the things you love about life itself 🙂
What’s a record that shaped your creativity?
A record that has shaped us creatively would be “Boom Boom Pow” by the Black Eyed Peas. That song came out in 2009 and blew everyone away because at that time, it was a dance record that made it in the pop charts! We were so inspired by that and continue to create upbeat, fun dance music just like that!
Who is an artist or band you look up to today, collectively or individually?
We all have our own artists that we connect with as individuals, but as a group, however, we always saw ourselves as the modern-day Jackson 5, but with a Black Eyed Peas twist!
Any future projects on the horizon that you can share?
Absolutely! We are dropping an album next Spring, 2022. It’s a project we’ve been working very hard on, and we can’t wait for our fans to see what we have in store!

What does music mean to you?
Music means so much to us! It’s a powerful tool that can be used to connect with people on a deeper level. We always want our music to be able to touch someone in a positive way!
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you?
Our sound is a new age pop, but with a twist. It has a big sound with anthemic choruses, 6 part harmonies, and awesome beats! We want our fans to be able to sing & dance to our music!
