In mythology, sirens have often been reduced to a single idea: seduction. But for Dutch-American designer Tinka Weener, the siren represents something far more complex—authority, sovereignty, and the quiet power of self-possession.
With the release of The Siren Call, the second collection from emerging luxury fashion house Songs of Siren, that mythology is rewritten for the modern era.
Launched in October 2025 and presented during New York Fashion Week, the collection builds on the brand’s central philosophy: exploring feminine power through mythological storytelling, handcrafted design, and slow-fashion craftsmanship.
For Weener, the siren isn’t simply an alluring figure calling sailors toward danger. She’s a symbol of control.
“For The Siren Call, I wanted to reinterpret the siren as a symbol of authority rather than just seduction,” Weener explains. “The collection and its imagery play with that tension—beauty paired with strength, softness paired with structure.”
Mythology Meets Modern Couture
Founded in 2024, Songs of Siren began as an artistic exploration of the archetypal siren, blending mythology with contemporary design language.
Each garment functions as a narrative piece—something closer to wearable storytelling than traditional fashion.
“Songs Of Siren began as an exploration of feminine power through mythology,” says Weener. “We reimagine the siren through hand-beaded clothing pieces as a figure of beauty and seduction, but most importantly as figures of control and authority.”
The brand’s signature aesthetic merges avant-garde couture, Indian-inspired hand-beading techniques, and a commitment to slow fashion production. The result is a series of garments that feel simultaneously ancient and futuristic, delicate yet commanding.
Across The Siren Call, silhouettes shift between fluid gowns, structured tailoring, and intricately embellished sets—each designed to embody the duality that defines the collection: softness and power existing side by side.
A Mystical Visual World
The campaign for The Siren Call was photographed in Amsterdam by photographer Dion Bal and creative director Indiana Vos.
Set on a flower-covered island in the stillness of a lake, the imagery presents modern sirens as sovereign figures rather than mythical temptresses.
There’s a sense of ritual to the campaign: lush natural environments, luminous fabrics, and silhouettes that feel both ceremonial and cinematic. The models emerge from the landscape not as objects of desire but as powerful protagonists within their own mythology.
The imagery reinforces the brand’s narrative core—inviting viewers into a world where femininity is neither passive nor performative but deeply self-defined.

A Collection Built on Craft
At the heart of Songs of Siren’s identity lies craftsmanship. Each piece within The Siren Call is created using meticulous hand-beading techniques, ensuring every garment carries its own unique character.
Standout designs include the celestial Sunrise Gown, the dramatic Midnight Sky Gown, and the astrological Scorpio Dress, alongside tailored statement pieces like the Business Suit Set, which pairs structured blazers with shimmering fabrics and intricate embellishment.
Accessories expand the mythology further, from silk trenches inspired by oracles to jewel-like handbags and the playful Siren’s Net tights, which reinterpret classic hosiery through a mythic lens.
Rather than chasing seasonal trends, the brand leans into timeless storytelling—designing garments meant to feel like artifacts from another world.
The Rise of a New Fashion Mythology
The collection’s official runway debut took place at W Hotel Times Square during New York Fashion Week, where it quickly caught the attention of fashion insiders and celebrities alike.
Early admirers of the brand include Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, and Natasha Bedingfield, signaling growing recognition for a label that only debuted a year earlier.
Yet for Weener, the goal has never been about celebrity visibility alone. The deeper mission is storytelling—creating a universe where mythology and identity intersect.
Each collection expands that universe further.

Dressing the Protagonist
More than a fashion brand, Songs of Siren frames clothing as a narrative tool. The wearer becomes the central character in a story that blends mythological symbolism with modern self-expression.
The garments are meant to evoke a feeling rather than simply fill a wardrobe.
A sense of presence.
A sense of authority.
A sense of stepping fully into one’s own story.
And perhaps that’s the ultimate power of the siren—not her song, but the fact that she never needed permission to sing it.
With The Siren Call, Songs of Siren invites a new generation to do the same.
