With over two decades of electrifying performances, Aleno has become a key figure in the Swiss house music scene. Emerging from Bern’s vibrant dance community, he helped shape the city’s nightlife with events like Doublekitsch and Kitty Klub. Known for his infectious energy and evolving sound, Aleno is now stepping into the spotlight as a recording artist with ‘Through’.
Devising a scintillating soundscape, the producers blend sultry afro house elements with delicate instrumentation to achieve a rich and radiant arrangement. The deep, pulsing basslines are intertwined with shimmering melodies, offering a sonic journey that feels both familiar and forward-thinking. Calling upon a pitched vocal, this track transports listeners to the heart of the dancefloor, evoking nostalgic tones while embracing the pulse of modern club culture.
Hey giacca. and Aleno, welcome to Mundane Mag! Firstly, congratulations on your new collaborative single “Through”. How has the feedback been so far?
First of all, we are beyond happy for the possibility to release the track under the esteemed Swiss label Club Control Records – celebrated for its impressive 25-year legacy and a roster of groundbreaking artists such as Mas Collective, Dario D’Attis, EDX and more. We feel honored as Club Control sets extremely high standards for signings. As we are just about to start the promotional campaign, “Through” is still a well-kept secret. But we played it already up and down at our gigs and the crowd was going literally “nuts” on it. EDX played “Through” in his latest episode of the NO XCUSES radio show.
We believe that the song has big potential as it works well in clubs such as on the radio.
How did your partnership come about for “Through”? Was there a specific moment or conversation that sparked the idea?
GIACCA: I think this collaboration felt seamless. We were completely on the same page, which made the process quick and smooth, with no friction regarding musical direction or element choices. It was definitely a good match, capturing what we’re both into at the moment.
ALENO: We met each other through our label Sirup Music and we have the same understanding of music. After a long jam session, we decided to do a collaboration together. It was the birth of “Through”.
You mentioned that watching a sunrise on a Dubai beach inspired the sound. Can you both elaborate on how this moment influenced the vibe and direction of “Through”?
That was actually from me (giacca). I recently moved to Dubai, and I go to the beach at sunrise almost every morning. I started feeling like it was time to create something that fits that vibe—a kind of soundtrack for those slower, more emotional moments. It’s different from my usual tracks, which are often made with nightlife and the dance floor in mind.
Can you describe the process of crafting the track together? How did you blend your individual styles and influences to achieve the final sound?
Crafting “Through” was a really organic process. We both brought our own styles and influences to the table, which made each step of the collaboration exciting and full of new ideas. We started by sharing our visions for the track and the kind of feeling we wanted to evoke. From there, it was a blend of our individual sounds—one of us leaned into melodic, atmospheric elements, while the other added rhythmic energy and groove.
We experimented with different sounds and let each other’s ideas shape the direction, which helped us find a balanced, cohesive sound that felt true to both of us and we’re really proud of the result.
What’s the main message behind “Through”? How does it reflect the feelings you wanted to evoke in listeners, whether at the beach or on the dancefloor?
GIACCA: Personally, I’m a hopeless romantic who loves love songs, so I wanted to add a touch of that to a track meant for dancing and togetherness. I hope it stirs emotions and brings back memories of someone special, helping people remember a cherished moment.
Aleno, as this is your debut single, what does this collaboration mean for you personally and professionally? How does it feel to share this milestone with giacca.?
After two decades of electrifying performances and having dedicated time to honing my craft as a music producer. I met giacca. a few times within the Sirup Music family, and we immediately hit it off – especially in terms of our musical understanding. Being the renowned artist that he is and with an impressive musical back catalog, he took me under his wing and “Through” is the result of that collaboration. I hope that this release will shape my profile and launch an exciting new chapter of my career.
Were there any unique production techniques or sounds you experimented with while creating “Through”? And what do you think makes this track stand out in the current dance music landscape?
ALENO: The track features smooth grooves and lush piano melodies that evoke passion and energy, making it the perfect soundtrack for unforgettable nights filled with electric vibes and pulsating beats. With its melodic hook line, “Through” casts a spell over everyone.
GIACCA: I’ve tried something new by using vocals as an atmospheric element. With lots of reverb and delay, the vocals resemble pads, subtly hinting at the melody to come, creating a sense of familiarity before the main vocal hits for the first time. When it comes to standing out, I think it’s powerful to embrace something with more depth and emotion, perfect for moments and spaces where people want to ‘vibe’ rather than go all out.
giacca., you mentioned wanting to create happy vibes. How have listeners responded so far, and what kind of feedback have you received from the community?
“Through” is my comeback track, and I have to say that I was a little nervous about venturing into a new sound, far away from the house vibe I’m known and appreciated for. But I wanted to trust my instincts and create something that I really felt, rather than what people might expect from me. I have to say it worked out really well – everyone loves it and the feedback has been nothing but positive.
Aleno, having been on the scene for over two decades as a DJ, and with “Through” marking your debut production, what’s next for your career?
There are many specific projects in the works. I have already finished a follow-up to “Through”. The track is called “Vida Loca” and is a Melodic/Afro house track with a catchy vocal sample. There are many national bookings coming up, and dates in Brazil and Greece are already confirmed for 2025. With Lagooon I am starting my own event label with a big team and a lot of effort. In addition to our own signature events, in 2025 we will be offering festival hostings and a Love Mobile at the Street Parade.
Finally, what has been the most memorable moment for you both during the creation of “Through”? Was there a particular experience or insight that stood out for you?
The most memorable moment during the creation of “Through” was probably when we both realized the track was taking on a life of its own. There was this point where all the elements clicked, and we could feel the emotion really coming through. It was a moment of pure flow and connection with the music. We both knew we were creating something special and unique to us, which felt incredible. That insight—to trust the process and let the music guide us—stood out and reminded us why we love making music in the first place. (giacca said)
