Off the back of Lex Gibbon’s huge UK school tour and the release of her single ‘Dear Hater’, she is gearing up to drop her latest track ‘All I Do (Is Cry)’.
We are introduced to a more vulnerable side to Lex through this track, as she describes her experiences with heartbreak.
TikTok and Instagram inspiration, Lex Gibbon, is a 17 year old singer songwriter from Hertfordshire U.K. Having been badly bullied from a young age, Lex understands how this can impact mental health and the devastating effect it can have on all aspects of life.Through her music she wants to help and inspire others to believe they can achieve anything.
As Lex gears up to release lots of new music in 2022, through TikTok’s distribution platform ‘Sound On’, she aims to continue her meteoric rise which has already led to huge amounts of support from media outlets such as ITV and BBC Introducing. Lex was also involved in a partnership earlier this year with Anne Marie to mark the release of her new book ‘You Deserve Better’.
Tell us about your latest release and how it came about
All I Do (Is Cry) is my latest release, I wrote it back in November of 2021 with the incredible Elyar who also produced the song. I really love it because it means so much and is so personal to me. The song came about after finding out a guy I had been with for a while had a girlfriend the whole time we were together and I had absolutely no idea! It’s me wondering why I can’t forgive him for how badly he treated me, comparing myself to her and most of all questioning, does she know?
What inspires your sound?
Anne Marie is one of my biggest musical influences, I’ve loved her music and everything she stands for, for as long as I can remember. I was lucky enough to work on the promo of her book ‘You Deserve Better’ and its a dream to write a song with her one day.
What’s your favorite tune of yours?
My favourite song that I’ve written isn’t out yet, so make sure to keep up to date with me to hear what I have coming next.
Where are some things you really want to accomplish as an artist?
My biggest dream since I was probably about five is to headline my own sell out show and have people singing my songs back to me. I really hope I can achieve this one day.
